Ben Rodney

President and Chief Executive Officer, RFA Financial
Mr. Rodney is a senior executive with over 25 years of leadership experience in real estate, capital markets, and financial services. Mr. Rodney joined RFA in 1997 and is currently the President, CEO and Managing Partner of RFA. He has led the structuring, pricing, and due diligence of over $20 billion in Canadian commercial mortgages and real estate. Mr. Rodney was the Chair of the Board of Artis REIT. He is also Chair of the Board of Trustees of Nexus REIT. Mr. Rodney holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from the University of Victoria.

Jaclyn Koenig

Chief Financial Officer, RFA Financial
Ms. Koenig currently serves as RFA Financials Chief Financial Officer and served as the Chief Financial Officer of Artis REIT. Prior to being appointed Chief Financial Officer, Ms. Koenig held various accounting and finance positions with Artis REIT since 2007 and has been responsible for financial reporting, property accounting, oversight of internal controls and has led the growth of the accounting team. Ms. Koenig holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.) degree from the University of Manitoba and Chartered Professional Accountant, Chartered Accountant (CPA, CA) designation.

Melody Lo

Chief Operating Officer, RFA Financial
Ms. Lo brings over 20 years of experience in both private and public financial institutions to her role as Chief Operating Officer at RFA Financial, where she will oversee operations for RFA Financial and its subsidiaries. Since joining RFA in 2017, Ms. Lo has held senior leadership roles across multiple RFA platforms, most recently as Managing Partner. At RFA Bank, she led the Commercial and Construction team, achieving more than $1 billion in Canada Mortgage Bond originations within the first year. Earlier in her career, Ms. Lo held progressively senior positions at global institutions including General Electric, Standard Life Investments and Manulife, spanning acquisitions and integrations, strategy, finance, asset management, and commercial real estate debt and equity. She also serves as Vice-Chair on the Board of Directors of the Yee Hong Community Wellness Foundation and holds an Honours Business Administration degree from the Ivey Business School at Western University.

Kara Watson

EVP, Legal and Corporate Secretary
Ms. Watson currently serves as Executive Vice-President, Legal and Corporate Secretary of RFA Financial and previously served as the Executive Vice-President - General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Artis REIT. Ms. Watson has over 20 years of experience as general counsel in the commercial real estate industry, including over 15 years at Artis REIT. Ms. Watson holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) degree from the University of Western Ontario and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Manitoba.

Robert Morton

President & CEO, RFA Bank
Mr. Morton is a senior executive with broad experience for 3 major financial services companies over 30 years. Mr. Morton is an accomplished, experienced leader in financial, strategic design & execution, risk management and general management. Mr. Morton has served as President & Chief Executive Officer at RFA Bank of Canada (OSFI regulated) for the past five years. Mr. Morton previously served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Home Capital and also served as a Senior Vice President and Principal Officer at State Street Bank for over 21 years. He holds a CPA, CMA and C.Dir. designations. Mr. Morton received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Waterloo.

Marina Bournas

President & CEO, RFA Mortgage Corporation
Mrs. Bournas serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of RFA Mortgage Corporation, bringing more than 20 years of experience in mortgage underwriting, credit operations, and risk management. As a founding member of RFA Mortgage Corporation, she has been integral in establishing the firm’s operational infrastructure, performance standards, and distinctive culture from the ground up. Under Marina’s leadership, RFA Mortgage Corporation has originated and funded over $9 billion in residential mortgages and continues to manage a growing portfolio of assets under management. She holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto.

Kim Riley

President, RFA Asset Management
Ms. Riley has over 20 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry. She has held various positions in accounting, valuation, investments and developments. As President Ms. Riley oversees many facets of the business, including leasing, operations, and property management. In her prior role as Executive Vice President – Investments & Developments she lead the investments team in more than $5B of real estate transactions in multiple markets across Canada and the United States. Ms. Riley holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.) degree from the University of Manitoba and Chartered Professional Accountant, Certified Management Accountant (CPA, CMA) designation.

Katherine Tathum

Chief Executive Officer, Five Continents
Ms. Tathum has over 25 years of asset management experience, with deep expertise across investment vehicles, securities and fixed income products. As Chief Executive Officer of Five Continents, she is responsible for the strategic direction and operational management of the firm, while also contributing directly to its asset management and investment oversight functions. Katherine holds a BA in Economics from York University, in Toronto and an MBA from the International College of the Cayman Islands.

Arees Jiwani

President, TM Investments
Mr. Jiwani has been with the RFA Group of Companies since 2018 and has played a central role in leading due diligence processes across more than $3 billion of transactions. As President of TM Investments, Arees has built the platform from the ground up and is focused on scaling it into a leading real estate private credit asset manager. He is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the business, including investment underwriting, capital formation and broker and partner relationships. Arees holds an Honors Business Administration degree with Distinction from the Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario.
